Pet Festival June 12th!

Join us on June 12th from 11am- 2pm for our Grand Re-Opening Party!








We will have pet adoptions with local rescue groups including Retired Greyhounds as Pets of CT, Abandoned Animals Inc, Labs 4 Rescue, Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue, ARF, and The Meriden Humane Society which is bringing the North Shore Animal Adoption bus. 

There will also be a meet the vet table, obedience training demonstrations, animal reiki, pet photography, a kids corner, local pet related vendors, food, entertainement, dog games & contests, raffles, & more!

New Country Lodge with Luxury Suites!

Renovations Week 5

Our new Pet Lodge is finally coming together and the end of construction is in sight.  We are currently accepting reservations for Memorial Day weekend and the summer!  Give us a call at 203-393-3126 to reserve a suite today!  If you are a current customer of ours you can now book your stay online.

We have expanded some of the original spaces to make our suites even larger! 

Our Luxury Suites are really starting to shape up.  They are separate from the main section of the lodge and offer a nice, quiet get away.  Soon these will be outfitted with an oversized toddler bed, perfect for any canine King or Queen.

Best Friends is Collecting Hair for Gulf Coast Oil Spill

Get Your Dog Groomed at Best Friends and Help Save the Environment!

As you know, there has been a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  Now there is a way you can help the clean up efforts.  A non-profit organization called Matter of Trust is collecting donations of clean hair and fur (human and animal) to clean up the oil in the ocean. Hair is hydrophobic which means it repels water and it's also great for absorbing oil (greasy hair means that hair collects oil). So, Matter of Trust has volunteers making devices called hair mats and hair booms which are made out of recycled hair and nylons.  When these are placed in the oil filled water, the oil is absorbed.

Best Friends Pet Care will be donating all hair clippings to Matter of Trust to assist in the Oil Spill clean up. Give us a call at 203-393-3126 to schedule an appointment for your dog or cat today!

Friendly Dog Monthly Meetup Group

Our Meetup Group this past Saturday was a success and lots of people were able to come out, with their dogs, and play outside in the great weather!  Check out some of our pictures from this past weekend.  Our next Meetup Group will be on Saturday, June 12th from 11am-1pm.  Not a member yet?  Sign up today! Renovations Week 2

As you can see our renovations are well under way and we are excited to see the finished space!  Here are some updated pictures:

Our indoor/outdoor new kennels!  We can accomodate any size dog and families with more than one.  We will even have two luxury suites available for those that like a more "homy" feel.

Our New Cathedral Ceiling. It sure makes our new Pet Lodge feel open and airy!

A new Courtyard/Play Area... It will soon come together.
